We’re a small group of artists who have been creating interior blinds in Nottingham since 1987; in 2001 we began manufacturing Curtains & Roman blinds. Since then, we have added Japanese Sliding Panel blinds & Japanese Shoji Panels into our extensive portfolio. We have been featured on TV several times- ‘Double Your House For Half The Money’ with Sarah Beeny, ‘Grand Designs’ with Kevin McCloud and we even made Shoji screens for the ‘Chelsea Flower Show’! Because we’re artists, we’re happy to handpaint your handmade screens or blinds, (did you know Renoir started out by making blinds?) and for the same reason we welcome unusual artistic projects- Steph has acted as interior design consultant for the BBC and we love problem-solving. In fact, when the long-time Managing Director of the biggest household-name blinds company wanted blinds for his own home he called us in to do them! We make more types of blinds than almost anyone else on the planet; some blinds types aren’t even listed here. Click on the links for the most popular: Roller Blinds, Roman Blinds, Pleated Blinds, Venetian Blinds, Vertical Blinds, Plantation Shutters (ok, they aren’t blinds!), Wooden Venetian Blinds, Perfect Fit Blinds, String Panel Blinds, Panel Blinds, Sash Blinds, Japanese Vertical Blinds, Curtain Panel Blinds, and of course our famous Shoji Blinds & Room Dividers!
Our handmade Shoji blinds have been very popular in London apartments & homes but we cover the whole of the country from our Nottingham Blinds & Curtains Showrooms- incidentally, they are usually cheaper than Plantation Shutters (which we also supply!) and only a fraction of the cost of ‘normal’ Shoji screens. they need no bottom track, being hand-made from Obeche which is almost the lightest weight timber in the world, with a beautiful grain. It’s all air-dried about a thousand miles from Nottingham, in Valencia in vast ‘aircraft hangars’ to ensure it won’t warp- did you know that the big blinds companies all say they can’t guarantee against their wood warping? We’ve fitted them all over the country, from Portavadie in Western Scotland to Devon, including Blaenavon in Wales- and hundreds in London. We can employ Curtains fabrics as well as ‘Washi Paper’ type Polyesters- in fact, 30% of all our Shojis feature Curtains fabrics, frequently Silks as well as French Linens and printed Cottons. On the subject of Curtains- we’ve been making them for 20 years now and we have over 5,000 fabrics to choose from in our Blinds & Curtains Showrooms in Arnold, Nottingham. Fabrics Suppliers for Curtains & Shojis include Harlequin, Prestigious Textiles, Voyage, Clarke & Clarke, Today Interiors, Design Forum- and our Curtains fabrics range from £20 a metre up to £300 a metre!
Our Blinds Showrooms are at our factory in Catton Rd Arnold Nottingham. The kettle’s always on!
