Panel Blinds- well, we specialise in these (have a look at our Shoji Blinds page!) so we feel we know a little bit about them now! We use a Spanish system- that’s the headrail- because generally the Spanish and Italian systems tend to be better than the North European systems as they’ve been making them for longer. Ours is the ‘Rutperfil’ system and we think it’s the best. Panel Blinds were originally called Japanese Blinds, but with the advent of ‘Shoji’ wood-framed Panel Blinds we normally simply call them ‘Panel Blinds’ if they’re just made from rectangles of fabric- usually Roller Blind fabric (if they’re made from Curtains fabrics they are usually called Curtain Panels) they stack one-in-front-of-the-other at one or both sides, gliding along like a train drawing carriages with each panel being on a separate channel. Panel Blinds can replace Vertical Blinds inside a recess or replace Curtains in front of a recess, with a wand control to draw them along or cords. Our ‘Rutperfil’ system is fully cordable- in other words, with a front leading panel or rear. This might sound obvious but many systems (including the leading ‘name’ brand in the UK, specified by Architects) aren’t! Well, we hope you will love our Panel Blinds- we think they are the best in the UK. Panel Blinds with a difference.
